Philosophy

The legal name thought.is operates under is The Thought & Expression Company. Burned into our company name is our philosophy. We are committed to facilitating thought and expression, to engendering a more articulate and receptive world. Guiding this mission are five considerations.

  1. Creativity for creativity's sake is the lifeblood of the company. Art is the imperative.
  2. Still, we operate within a capitalist economy. Economic viability matters and the power of popular culture can’t be underestimated.
  3. Focus! Discipline before inspiration.
  4. Quality is a moving target defined by context and intent. To ensure quality, then, we must always be clear about the purpose from the start.
  5. Better to be hopeful at the risk of naivety than jaded.
