Recently, Target released a statement that reaffirmed why it’s a socially-conscious badass: in response to the anti-trans legislation in several states, Target said that its stores “welcome transgender team members and guests to use the restroom or fitting room facility that corresponds with their gender identity.”

And, naturally, the Internet exploded with vitriol.

Target’s Facebook page was flooded with rabble-rousing threats to “NEVER SHOP AT TARGET AGAIN” and hashtags about boycotts. And, wonderfully, Target’s pro-equality community bit back with a vengeance.
