22 Ways You’re Sabotaging Your Own Chances At True Happiness

1. Listen to Naysayers.
Some of them mean well. However, telling you whatever you’re trying to do will never work out because of some limited theory they have that’s obviously never worked for them, is just crazy. Be brave, don’t listen and move on.

One Important question I’ve learnt to ask someone who is dishing out advice is, always ask them ‘how do you know?’ See what they say then.

2. Be Ungrateful.
This will get you nowhere in life, while keeping you from having the things you really want.

Whilst on the other hand, gratitude will make you much happier. Gratitude is a feeling or emotion itself which will bring good things into your life believe it or not.

Look back at where you were and where you are today and how you overcame obstacles, you once thought was impossible. Make it a daily practice to be grateful for what you do have right now.

3. Procrastinate.
We all do it. But how long will you procrastinate for on that project? Filling out that application form? Or starting your life?! Those are the questions you need to ask because this makes all the difference of where you are now and where you want to be. (Sooner rather than later.)

4. Staying Too Comfortable.
“Life begins at the end of your comfort zone.” — Neale Donald Walsch

5. Complain About The Past.
“Spending today complaining about yesterday won’t make tomorrow any better.”

6. Be Unfaithful.
Build your faith in God and believe he will give you the power to do what it takes when you need it done. Remember this always.

7. Being Selfish.
Sometimes we start to thinking there is a limited supply of everything! So we get selfish, always thinking about ourselves.

Giving is so important when it comes to your success. You always have something to give this includes your time.

Is there someone that needs your help today?

8. Keeping Yourself Distracted.
A bit like procrastinating, keeping yourself busy doing other things so that you are so distracted from doing what you are meant to be doing consciously or subconsciously. The point is if you are distracting yourself. You need to stop it.

9. Excuses.
Are you constantly making excuses for why you can’t do something?

Grab a pen and piece of paper. Write your goal at the top draw a line down the middle so you have 2 equal columns. Title the first column ‘why I can’t’ and title the second column ‘how I can’. Now begin thinking of ways to achieve your goal and write them in the ‘how I can’ column. Every time an excuse pops up I want you to shout “NEXT”. By the end of this exercise you will be left with one blank column and a sound plan for execution on your idea.

10. Someday Syndrome.
Do you say to yourself when I have enough money then I’ll… Or when things get better then I’ll… Are you waiting for that perfect time to start living?

There won’t be one. Start now. In the midst of all you are doing start living to by doing all the things you really love to do.

11. Doing What You Dislike.
Are you feeling stuck in a job you hate? Living a life you are totally unhappy with? Are you afraid to move on?

Sometimes it can be difficult to make changes probably because you don’t know where to start. If you don’t know where to start it’s with YOU.

12. Putting Yourself Down All The Time.

17. Make Your Life Complicated.
Keep it simple. Please.

18. Holding On To What You Don’t Need.
If you’re not using it you don’t need it. Especially those clothes you haven’t worn in over a decade! Stuff you have in the cupboards that you no longer require, get rid of them. Things and stuff have a lot of energy attached to them and may be the reason you cannot move forward.

19. Not Listening To Your Instincts.
So you get a hunch you ignore it what happens nothing, you stay stuck. Listening to your body and what ‘feels’ right will take you that step closer to your goal. I know it can be scary but it’s also ok to take risks.

20. Comparing Yourself to Others.
This is a crusher! Oh my life! It can be the reason your never happy and you never move on.

Repeat after me: “They are them… I am me.”

21. Not Growing.
Experiences + growth + contributing = Good Life

So if you’re not growing it’s not part of the equation.

22. Blame Others.
Are you playing the blame game? Blaming everything and everyone in your life for what goes wrong? If you do, then stop it. Now. It’s not ‘their’ fault and even if it seems like it (or really is) from now on you are going to take res-pon-sib-ility.

Because it’s not about what’s happened it’s about how you are going to deal with it.

Are you going to react (scream, shout or even punch someone in the face)

OR respond deal with things by thinking first. Bottom line, stop blaming other people for things that happen in YOUR life.
