3 Ways To Boost Your Confidence For Those Who Think They Have None


Confidence is an interesting topic because we all have it within us, but it can take time to manifest in our daily lives. Some people may have a rougher time attaining confidence than others depending on how they look at life. Through insecurities I’ve learned three sequential steps that will increase confidence instantly.

1. Don’t overthink

When we lack confidence we are lacking the mentality to take a bold action. Meaning, we overthink a situation. Overthinking causes us to play into our insecurities and take the path of least resistance. Taking the path of least resistance is almost human nature because it’s the safe route, similar to survival mode. When another option is present that requires us to have confidence, our nature is to think of every reason to back out and stay safe. These situations show up in daily activities such as, asking someone on a date, speaking our mind, wearing a specific attire, etc. When you begin to overthink, choose the most uncomfortable option and act fast!

2. Act fast

Excuses will always exist but opportunities won’t. Confidence is a force that must act upon an opportunity for the opportunity to yield a positive outcome. If an opportunity exists, make a decision and act fast. You gain confidence through actions. The more you do something, the more natural it becomes, and the less fear you have doing it. Simple as that!

3. Walk with your head high

Walking with proper posture is both practical and metaphorical. Practically speaking, you are able to smile, look people in the eye, and see all the beauty this world has to offer. That in itself completely changes your demeanor. Metaphorically speaking, you can’t be confident without a vision. If you’re looking down when you walk, your vision is limited. If you look up, you can see your obstacles but you also get a little glimpse of heaven to see where your help is coming from. Your fears, doubts, and insecurities are no match to your willpower.
