3-Year-Old Recites Billy Collins Poem From Memory
By Liz Colville
The three-year-old son of YouTube user drchelpka is making a name for himself in viral video world with his poem recitations. Dressed as Superman, he’s recited Alfred Lord Tennyson’s “The Eagle” and the considerably more challenging 30-line Billy Collins poem “Litany” from memory.
What might be even more adorable than the sound of this kid’s voice discussing complex adult concerns is his ability to multitask. While reciting “Litany” he plays with some plastic animals and even pauses to say “Uh oh!” after dropping one on the floor. While such a hiccup might cause the most capable eighth grader to stumble and flee the front of the classroom, this little guy just keeps going unabated.
