4 Ways To Transform Your Life For The Better
By Margie Ramos
There comes a point in your life when you feel like you need to start making changes. Some people think that in order to change their lives, they need to move to another country or city.
Yes, you can change your life by moving elsewhere. However, it won’t necessarily change for the better. Some things will remain the same if you keep holding on to the same things that are holding you back right now.
Here are 4 ways to transform your life for the better:
1. Change the way you think about yourself
You are what you think you are. Your thoughts affect your decisions, your attitude, your body language and your behavior. How others value you or see you is mostly the result of how you portray and carry yourself.
If you start thinking that you are inferior to others, you will start acting like a lesser person in comparison to other people. As a result, some people will start treating you as if you are below them.
Successful people are not always the most experienced or the smartest person in the room. They are not always the best or the most talented either. They are, however, the people who think highly or positively about themselves.
They think that they have a bigger purpose in life. They think that they are special. They think that they can do it, even when the most important people in their lives think that they can’t.
Their thoughts about themselves help them accomplish their goals.
Think positively about yourself. Acknowledge your worth and your value. Others can’t make you feel inferior without your approval.
2. Replace your bad habits
Your habits play a vital role in your life. If you feel like you are not moving up in life or if you are unhappy, you need to start replacing some of your habits.
The habits you should replace to transform your life for the better are those that make you feel powerless, the ones that hold you back and those that make you feel lonely, anxious, sad and not good enough.
Such habits include, making excuses for your laziness and negligence, letting other people make decisions for you, and obsessing over what you need to let go.
3. Change your wardrobe
What you wear says a lot about you. And what you wear affects how others perceive and treat you. Dress trashy, and others will start seeing and treating you like one.
If you want to change how other people perceive you, change your wardrobe. Barney Stinson did it. Steve Jobs did it. Celebrities do it all the time.
One of the key steps to a successful career, other than showing up, is dressing up. Don’t simply dress to impress, dress for success.
Marketers and public relations professionals know it, and that is why they are known for being well and properly dressed.
Dressing up can also boost your self-confidence.
4. Make better friends
Sadly, but true, not all friends are good friends. By the time you are 25, you will realize that there are some friends you will have to let go in order make your life better.
Such friends are those who hold you back from living the life you imagined, those who always get you in trouble, those who envy you and those who bring you down.
Make better friends if you want your life to be better, because your friends can influence your decision-making and their habits can rub off on you.
As the old saying goes, “He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm.” And that is because you are only as good as the company you keep.
