5 Reasons To Try A Group Fitness Class

Summer is right around the corner (literally) and you’re still not “summer body ready”
You see it all over your newsfeed on facebook. You’re getting groupons for them. Whether it’s SoulCycle, Orange Theory Fitness, Boxing or Yoga class, it is pretty imtimidating at first.
Maybe you need a little more motivation to start.
Here are 5 reasons why you should join the group fitness class:
1. Teamwork:
Nothing is more motivating than being in the same class with people who have the same goal in mind as you. When you feel like you are about to give up or quit, your instructor and classmates are there to root for you till the end.
2. Building new friendships:
It’s an easy way to meet new people. Everyone is obviously there to have a better healthy lifestyle. They could be your fitness partner because we all know how self motivation is hard to attain. There are usually events outside the classes, like 5ks, attire show cases and just a night out in the city. Don’t be shy!
3. Open to new Ideas:
Get our of your comfort zone. Learn a new way to excerise. Perhaps you were doing those burpees wrong the entire time you thought you were a master at. It’s such a great way to learn and if you are having trouble, your trainer will be able to help out as well. It’s okay if you don’t get the posture or speed as quick, just remember, everyone started somewhere.
4. Money:
If you are paying a certain amount a month for class, you will actually go. If you don’t, majority of the classes with charge a cancellation fee or a late fee without a 24 hour notice. Don’t waste money!
5. It doesn’t feel like a workout:
The workout, the music (not the 70’s music they use in cycling classes), and bond you make with classmates, make it feel like it isn’t a workout. You won’t even realize that you are burning 400+ calories either!
