5 Ways To Deal With Your Quarter-Life Crisis

By

You woke up today without even a slight feeling of enthusiasm to face the day.

You prep for school/work and your plan for the rest of the day is basically the exact same thing you had yesterday and the days before that.

You feel misanthropic even when people aren’t even doing the slightest bit of inconvenience for you and seeing them pass you by on the street with a definite destination makes you feel a tiny tinge of jealousy for you can’t remember the last time you went to a new place to try something new.

You never even bother to dress up anymore when leaving your place because you aren’t going to meet anyone you feel like talking to for more than five minutes anyway, in fact you can no longer remember how your friends look like because you have been completely shutting them out from your life just because you can’t just keep up with conversations of their achievements in life and yours is still under construction for a couple of years now.

At the end of the day, you find yourself alone on your couch, watching TV while munching on a meal good for three people but your mind is subconsciously wondering how your life turned out to be like this and how you could turn your life around. Giving up is easy but nothing worth it ever comes from taking the easy way out. It’s never too late to get your life back on track.

1. Just because you had good years behind you doesn’t mean there aren’t any ahead of you.

Life is full of wonderful possibilities and you just have to get your ass up and take as much chances as you can get. Life is too short to wait for opportunities to be handed to you; you make an opportunity on your own. Try something new, meet new people and expand your horizons.

2. A positive mindset always works.

There are always two possibilities in every situation: 50% positive and 50% negative. You have to work hard enough for you to be hopeful and for positive results and be strong enough to accept the fact that sometimes the odds will not be in your favor 100% percent of the time. A friend once said, “Always hope for the best and prepare for the worst” those words always come in handy trust me.

3. Failures are inevitable.

Even Einstein at some point didn’t get things right the first time, but that doesn’t mean we should wallow in despair when the universe doesn’t side with us. We should learn from the things we went wrong with and with our greatest effort try not to do them again. Failing once is one thing, but failing over and over again should make you realize you should change something to get a different result next time.

4. Each one of us is capable of doing something great.

Find what you are good at, hone it and use it to your advantage. Never ever compare yourself with other human beings. Yes, we are of the same genus and species but we are all different from one another. It’ll only make you appreciate yourself less. When you are way too focused on other people’s lives you tend to forget to cultivate and improve yours. No one is luckier than the other we all get our fair share of struggles and you just have to deal with your own.

5. You need people and you always will no matter how independent you think you are.

Shutting people out is never a good idea. Good friends are blessings in life. They are the ones you’d go to first to share good news about your life and cheer for you on your every success, they’re the ones who’d pick up pieces of your broken heart if your nth relationship ended on a bad note, the ones who’d go out with you when you randomly want to eat out or party, they’ll wipe your tears or even cry with you when you are down and they’ll be the ones you’d’ be happy to see at your wedding. You get it, living on your own sucks big time. Having solitude is fine from time to time but life will be so much easier when you have people to share it with.
