7 Benefits Of Working With A Mindset Coach

Are you on the fence about consulting a mindset coach? You think that maybe it sounds like some wacky “self-help mumbo jumbo”; and besides, so far, you’ve done pretty well on your own. But, have you done “pretty okay” on your own? Are you actually where you want to be right now? This exact moment; you wouldn’t change a thing: In your career? In your relationships? In your parenting? In your living situation? In your health and fitness? In your financial situation? You wouldn’t change A THING?

If you had to give any of those a second thought, then you are NOT where you want to (or should, or could) be.

Here’s the good news, you have options. There are things you can do to get where you want to go. And, best of all, no one said you had to do it alone. That’s why there are Mindset coaches!

And here are just 7 benefits of working with a mindset coach!

1. A fresh perspective.

Perhaps, you’re stuck in a rut. Things aren’t going badly, but they just aren’t improving, either. You’ve decided you’re ready for a change. But how do you get yourself unstuck? How do you get out of that rut?

Let’s face it, you’re not getting any new or impactful advice from your current circle. So, everything continues status-quo. What can you do? Uh, how about expand your circle? You expand your circle, you expand your perspective.

A mindset coach could be the perfect addition to your circle. Your mindset coach will have a fresh perspective to offer you. Your coach may notice strengths you haven’t acknowledged. She will see things from a different and exciting angle. Your mindset coach will give you that fresh perspective that will help you set off on your new course at a running pace.

2. The right kind of support.

You might think they should be, but often times your closest friends and family aren’t giving you the right kind of support. They love you, they are well-meaning, but they may have different ideas about your goals and future than you do (like seriously, super different). They support you the best they can, but it might not be what you need.

About four years ago, I was seriously considering signing on as a LuLaRoe consultant. This was back when they were pretty new and you weren’t being added to a new LuLaRoe group every damn day. So I sat in on one of their recruitment calls. Now, it was almost four years ago, so I don’t remember the consultants’ names, but I do remember this, they spoke extensively about the fact that their families and closest friends’ were NOT their biggest supporters in their new businesses. For whatever reason, their family and friends just could not get into this new trend with them, they were… too close.

Isn’t that just so true in life? Sometimes it’s hard for your siblings to think of you as anything other than a bratty little sister or for your college friends to think of you as something other than a party girl. It can be hard for our close friends and family members to support us in reaching our goals when those goals don’t meet their preconceived notions of us.

When you set a big new goal (especially if it is something that is uncharacteristic for you) you may end up in a similar position where your family and friends are less than supportive or not giving you the support you need. Let your mindset coach be the support you are looking for.

3. Accountability.

I know, I know, you were expecting this. If you have even thought about starting to work out in the past five years, you’ve definitely heard someone use the phrase “accountability partner”. It’s big right now, especially in the fitness industry. But, do you know why? Because it’s WORKING. That’s right. If it wasn’t, people wouldn’t still be using the model.

Let your mindset coach be your life accountability partner.

4. Improved relationships/communication skills.

This is an important one! Working with a mindset coach can help improve your dialoguing skills. This will help you to improve your interactions in all areas of your life. It may even have an impact on areas you hadn’t even initially intended to address.

Allowing yourself to open up to and share your dreams (sometimes dreams you’ve been too timid to share with anyone else) with your mindset coach will be freeing! Opening up could be the first and biggest step you make on your new journey!

5. Mentoring.

In many areas of life, mentors are available. High school students have guidance counselors, teachers, and sports coaches. College students have RA’s and academic advisors in their majors. And many jobs give new hires a mentor.

My first year of teaching, I was assigned a mentor. She checked in on me. I bounced ideas off of her. I went to her for advice. She supported me through difficult situations. Mentoring has been tested by time and proven effective.

Why not have a mindset mentor, too?

6. Your own, personal, cheerleader.

Wouldn’t it be great to have someone you can share your successes with who will never think you are being boastful or bragging? Who doesn’t want their own personal cheering section?! This relationship could be truly exciting for both of you- the client and the coach! Success for you as the client means success for your mindset coach, too. You can celebrate the successes together! Your coach will be genuinely happy each time you check a goal off your list; no matter the size. So, GO, GO, G-O…. get yourself a cheerleader!

7. The light bulb moment.

That moment your mindset coach says something that just makes sense. Something no one has ever suggested before. Something you never thought about before. Something that fills you with both excitement and anticipation at the same time. Something that could only have come from your mindset coach. Something that will change the course of your life forever.
