7 Indicators You’re In A Healthy Relationship

By

If you’ve been together for a long time, check whether these are still present in your relationship. On the other hand, if you’re a new couple, these are sure signs that you’re going in the right direction.

1. There is trust between the both of you.

You accept each other’s word, with little to no questions asked. There’s no need for a lengthy explanation about things. You believe your partner will not cheat or do anything that could possibly ruin the relationship. You trust them enough not to hurt you intentionally.

2. Cooperation is always present.

You make most decisions together, whether small or life changing ones. You are willing to compromise for the sake of your partner, and it’s okay. You don’t feel forced to change, because you prefer to meet halfway.

3. You are supportive of each other.

In almost all of your choices, there is an understanding and no judgment. Your partner values your dreams, goals, and opinions. You are often encouraged to be better than you were yesterday.

4. You’re both honest.

Your communication lines are open, and there’s no room for mind games. You can say what you feel, without having to sugarcoat it. You both take criticisms well, to save yourselves from having a possible petty argument.

5. There’s accountability.

You admit your mistakes whenever you’re wrong, and accept responsibility for your behavior. You don’t play the victim, and blame your partner for anything that has gone wrong.

6. You feel safe.

Your partner doesn’t intimidate or manipulate you at any given point. When faced with arguments, you both express in a non-violent manner. There are no threats, profanity, and abuse involved.

7. And lastly, mutual respect.

It’s the most important aspect of your relationship, besides the fact that you both love each other. Of course you don’t want to be with someone who cannot even respect you. Remember, relationships are a two-way street – always give and take.
