Wait For The One Who Doesn’t Want To Live Without You
You know it is right when you bring out the best in each other.
Everyone searches for a love that is real; a love that clears the blurry spectacles of our feelings; a love that through all the differences and imperfections, remains; a love that after the struggles and triumphs, lasts. A love that lasts because it is right.
He may be a guy who would say you’re beautiful when your eyebrows are on fleek, or when your foundation is perfectly contoured. He may notice how your hair smells nice and how it goes in place in sync with the wind. But you’ll only know it’s right when he appreciates your bare face and slowly runs his fingers along the freckles on your cheeks. You’ll know it’s right when he notices how much you love your bangs as it covers a portion of your forehead, a part of you that you never really like exposing. You know it’s right when he volunteers to brush your hair when it doesn’t cooperate with the way of the wind.
He may be a guy who guides you as you walk in your heels, just so you would not trip. He may be a guy who loves to hold your hand in public and show you off to all the people you meet. But you’ll only know it’s right when he says you can wear flats instead, and doesn’t mind the foot gap of your heights because he loves it when he gets to kiss your head. You’ll know it’s right when he holds your hand even if there is no one around, it’s just because he wants to, and it’s just because he wants to make you feel that you’re safe and sound.
He may be a guy who always says he loves the sound of your voice every time he calls you at night. He may be a guy who puts in a lot of effort to reply to all your messages just to keep the conversation going until the wee hours of the morning. But you’ll only know it’s right when he notices the change in your tone, and at that point, he knows something is up and that he has to act upon it, may it be comforting you or figuring out if he did wrong. You’ll know it’s right when he notices how your “okay” suddenly became an “ok”, and he would immediately know there is something you want to talk about.
He may be a guy who seeks for your attention all the time and wants you to be with him every second of the day. He may be a guy who would be willing to pick you up for breakfast, lunch or dinner every day. He may be a guy who congratulates you for the things you’ve achieved in your life so far. But you’ll only know it’s right when he knows you have your priorities and that time is really valuable to you. You’ll know it’s right when no matter how much he misses you, when you say you’re busy, he would respect that and say “alright, just beep me back when you’re done with your work.” You’ll know it’s right when through the process of you living up your dreams, he’s silently working behind the scenes, encouraging and supporting you with a bucket of chicken and pineapple juice.
He may be a guy who thinks you’re perfect for him, someone who thinks you’re his definition of real love. He may be a guy who thinks he’s the best one for you and you for him. Well that’s alright. It’s alright to live in a fantasy full of perfections. But you have to wake up at some point because you’ll only know it’s right when he notices your hidden imperfections, and still decides to love you anyway because he appreciates every bit of you. You’ll know it’s right when you bring out the best in each other and reserve a spot to grow by yourselves.
You’ll know it’s right when you are each other’s ‘I can’t live without’ in this world full of ‘I’m better off alone.’
And the moment you get to know everything’s right, then that’s when you’ll realize you have the best relationship one could ever have. That’s when you’ll know it’s real, and that’s when you’ll know it’s right.
