Fate Doesn’t Get To Decide The Person You Will Be
I believe that we all have a destiny. There is something planted inside us from the very beginning that will make us the person we are meant to be. It will bring us wherever our feet take us; we just haven’t discovered it yet. But I also believe that we all have a choice in this world. There may be some things that are inevitable, but that doesn’t mean the rest have to be.
Fate can sometimes bring us to its good graces. It grants us the things we want and the things we think we deserve. But other times, when we feel hopeless, we think it’s just fate messing with us. We think that in that moment, that’s who we’re meant to be or where we’re supposed to be, even if we don’t like the outcome. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that if fate brings us somewhere, there’s no way out.
There are so many ways the idea of fate can interfere with our lives. It can affect how we view love and relationships. “Oh its fate! We’re really meant to be!” I bet we have all heard this line at least once in our lives, maybe in a movie or book. When you meet the love of your life, you think fate brought you two together. Maybe it did, maybe it didn’t. But you have to give yourself a little credit! If you hadn’t done the things you did, you wouldn’t be the person you are today.
Like I said, we all have a choice in this world. But fate can also have a big impact on the decisions we make. What if you came from a family full of doctors? Your ancestors were doctors, your parents are doctors, basically everyone in your family are doctors. But you don’t want to follow their footsteps; you want to pursuit a different career. “Maybe this is what I was supposed to do. I guess this is my fate.” No it’s not. You have a choice! You can change the course of your life; make your own path. Make your own destiny.
The higher beings or goddesses or whatever you want to call them, don’t get to decide everything. We do. We have a choice to change things. We have a choice to change our route and directions. We can choose our fate, believe it or not. We don’t need to be the person everyone expects us to be. We are free to choose the things we want in life.
Honestly, I believe in fate, but I don’t believe in the whole idea of fate. I believe that we are controlled, but we also have the ability to control ourselves. I believe that we are all capable of making our own decisions that will lead us to where we’re supposed to be without relying on fate. I believe that we are destined for greatness.
We all have a choice.
We choose our destiny.
We choose our fate.
