It can be daunting to picture yourself knocking down your walls, opening up and becoming vulnerable to someone you hardly know. And it could be incredibly embarrassing to proclaim your love to someone, in return only hearing a “thanks but no thanks” response.
I embraced what life presented to me. I learned new languages, experienced the life of a volunteer in a disadvantaged country, joined in traditional cultures and I gave myself the opportunity to self-reflect.
Once you start loving yourself again and putting yourself first, you will eventually feel that it’s the right time to re-connect with your ex and start a friendship (if you even want to).
