But what you should also know is that the times in which you are most a writer are usually the times in which you are most trying to clean up your insides.
The pain scale is not the human scale.
Average is not a dirty word. It’s a misunderstood word.
But there is no swift motion of starting in darkness and moving toward the light indefinitely. There’s a lot of in and out. There’s a lot of grey area. There are days you’re so far back you can’t believe you let yourself get there and then there are days you forget you were ever miserable to begin with.
As anyone who is well-versed in the art of life can tell you, income can sustain your body but insight sustains your being; and it’s in being that we really start to live.
I’m not even sure it’s a matter of how our culture needs to change, but how we need to start choosing for ourselves genuinely, and allowing culture to take shape around that instead of the other way around.
Everything negative we experience is a derivative of gaps in our psychological health: between what we attract, how we process and how we cope afterwards.
We learn that these things are roadblocks that we aren’t supposed to knock down, because they serve us and show us that we need to go in another direction. We learn to love them for that, even though we don’t love them at all.
Mommys are for protecting you. So I’m going to be sweet to her, and protect her too.
