You don’t have to work yourself until you’re exhausted. You don’t have to keep going until you’re near tears. You don’t have to push and push and push yourself until you feel like you’re going to collapse.
Your goals are never-ending. You never have a break. You never allow yourself to pause, to recharge, to breathe.
You’re never going to be satisfied. As soon as you reach a goal, you’re going to create another goal, which is why you might feel like you aren’t meeting your goals. But your failure is only an illusion.
My anxiety makes it hard for me to commit to future plans because my mind changes by the day.
You’re stressing yourself out over situations that haven’t even happened yet (and might never happen at all).
At the end of the day, your mistakes don’t matter. Whether or not you’re able to bounce back matters. Whether you keep going when you’re tempted to quit matters.
Don’t stay in one place when you’re ready to leave. Don’t allow your history to tether you to the past. You don’t have to keep repeating your routine because you’ve grown used to it, because it’s the scary to switch things up, because you would rather live a predictable life than step into the unknown.
You can’t feel like a failure when you find out your favorite author writes 5,000 words on an average day when your best days involve 2,000 words.
