We may deny the uncomfortable emotions that arise in our life. We can push them back down and refuse the experience. But that doesn’t mean they go away.

So when we stop believing that people can change, we stop believing anything can change, ourselves included.
I realize now my Lenten sacrifices, from the booze to the boys, were really just distractions.
Maybe we are more connected to our fears than we realize.
What if our mistakes aren’t meant to define us, but instead to guide us?
We all have a comfort zone and for the most part, we prefer to stay within it. And why wouldn’t we?
The point is just feeling. Not finishing. And by removing the goal – and the focus and pressure that comes along with it – you are able to surrender.
And then I burned it all… because nothing is more cleansing than fire.
Yes, I believe in love. I’ve loved, and I’ve been loved. Maybe someone still loves me to this day. I still love some of them to this day. I believe the love can still exist without the life together. And that doesn’t make the love any less impactful.
