I saw police officers and protestors, just across the street from him. They all wore uniforms. Some bore badges, while the others brandished coffee. They were loud but calm in the cold.

Perhaps my inability to refer to myself as an artist without setting apart the word in quotation marks says something about my state of mind on the matter.

Okay. Maybe he didn’t save my life, but he made me the man I am today.
