I am a sleep scientist, and I have to spend the night alone in the sleep lab. Tonight though, tonight, is different. Tonight, there’s no danger of me nodding off. I’m wide awake. And I’m terrified.

I was doused in sweat now, and too uncomfortable to lie back down, and too cold and shivery to get out of bed. Part of me wanted to check outside, certain something was outside my window.
