I think it’s hypocritical for Trump, who has not only never served his country, but did everything he could to get out of it, to tell anyone they can’t serve. Call me crazy, but if people voluntarily join the military, pass all the tests and basic training, and prove to be more than qualified, who is anyone to tell them they can’t serve?
We are brothers, sisters, sons, daughters, parents and grandparents. We are fat, thin, Black, White, Christian, Jewish, Muslim and everything in between. We are cops, bankers, teachers, lawyers, accountants and anything else you can think of. Because of those who came and fought before me, I get to live my life today as an out and proud Gay man.
Do I need to have security detail every time I run out to get milk at the corner store for me to know what I’m talking about? Or do I just need protection when I hold hands with, or dare to kiss the man I love in public? Tell me… when will enough be enough?
From as far back as I can remember, there are certain things that have always been associated with me medically: I was considered underweight, and I had high blood pressure and cholesterol. I never made anything of it because I just thought that it was what it was. Looking back now, I wonder if this was an indication of what was to come.
