It is not selfish, or greedy, or narcissistic to want to be the most important thing in his life, not when you are ready and willing to make him yours. There should be no stigma in admitting that that is what you want, and no shame in refusing to settle for less.
They say that moored boats can never explore, and I try to remind myself that cutting ties is supposed to free me up for bigger and better things, but lately the freedom doesn’t feel as liberating as I had hoped.
