Don’t Forget To Fall Madly, Deeply, Truly In Love With Yourself

The saying goes something like, “if you were asked to list things you love, how long would it take before you named yourself.”
The first time I heard that quote it stuck with me, it lingered in the back of my head because the sad thing is, I don’t think I would have ever thought of putting myself down. And even with that quote as a reminder I still don’t think I’d put myself close to the top of the list. Maybe because I feel like I’m not obsessed with myself enough to do that, or maybe because I love dogs and ice cream more.
We focus so much of our attention on trying to get others to love us, to adore us and to admire us that we forget to do those things to ourselves.
I believe you have to spend some time alone in order to love yourself. You should spend some quality time reflecting and doing some soul searching. Find what you like and dislike about yourself and take it from there.
Figure out how you deal with being alone, find out what makes you feel empty and vulnerable, find out what makes you giddy with excitement and makes your stomach do somersaults. Find out what makes you feel sexy and what makes you feel shitty. Find all those things out about yourself.
Love what you already love about yourself and work on improving the rest.
If you hate the way junk food makes you feel, but you can’t stop eating it. Evaluate yourself. Work on eliminating it from your diet so you can start feeling better about yourself.
If you always feel better after putting lotion on, then carry lotion with you to apply when desired. If getting your nails done makes you feel less self-conscious about your hands, get your nails done. If going for a morning run makes you feel more confident throughout the day, wake up early and hit the pavement.
No matter what your “thing” is that makes you feel better, find it and do it. Don’t hesitate just do whatever makes you feel better and feel happy.
Loving yourself is not a selfish act.
You should love yourself in an appreciative way. Love your self in a way where you feel better and in a way that you realize love doesn’t run out, especially not for yourself.
Devote the proper time and care you need into yourself so you can be the best version of you every single day. You’re the only person who keeps you company every day. You’re the constant voice between your eyes. You’re the one who can talk yourself up or beat yourself down.
Don’t spend your life suffering because of self-inflicted pain from believing you’re not good enough.
Fall in love with yourself, find your passions and pursue what makes you feel alive.
Life isn’t waiting for you to decide you’re ready, it just keeps on passing by.
Once you learn to love yourself, in a madly passionate way, those around you will love you more because you will glow and you will send off nothing but good vibes. Self-love is inspiring and empowering. Be your best you and don’t forget to love yourself along the way.
