Here’s The Truth About Your Emptiness: You Will Be Filled In Christ
By Sierra Grimm
Can we be honest with ourselves for a second? Like, truly honest. Put down the walls for a hot second and just truly answer this question with pure honesty.
Have you ever actually been fully satisfied?
Yes, I can say that I have been satisfied with that new job, that new car, those adorable new clothes, etc. However, I can honestly say that the feeling of satisfaction from those tangible items lasted until I saw the “next best thing” or when I found something that I “needed.”
From experiencing such an utterly exhausting feeling, you can’t tell me that you’ve wanted something more fulfilling, something that will actually last for longer than a week, or even after a swipe of a card.
Can I let you in on a secret? A secret so scandalous, so beautiful, so intoxicating, it will be fulfilling if you truly allow it too. If you truly embrace what comes with knowing this secret, you too can experience fulfillment in such a way nothing else will compare to it anymore.
How freeing does that sound? FREEING!
It’s scary, it’s unbelievable but that’s God.
He is scary and unbelievable. But it happens to be in the simplest yet most scandalous way. And just because I said God, please don’t huff and puff and click on the next blog. Hear me about for a hot second.
I am not trying to conform your beliefs to mine, at all. I am here, opening up myself to a complete stranger to share something that I know all of us yearn to experience, to have and to get a taste of.
I used to think that I could get satisfaction from emptying my bank account on some fantastic things that would ultimately try to make me happy but after awhile, I was getting tired of the let down. Even the next best thing, or having something before anyone else did, still was not satisfying me. I was so ungrateful still… even though it may have appeared to some that I had it good, or whatever other colorful words that could express from my appearance… Something clicked though, finally.
I found Jesus, on my own. With that came freedom, satisfaction and fulfillment in such a way that I truly knew nothing else could suffice.
Once you experience that, the things of this world become pointless. They become less important and your priorities start to change in ways you never thought could. It’s honestly freeing, it’s humbling and it’s life changing.
If you’re in need of a cleanse, a life change, or just wanting to be honest with yourself for once… try Jesus. But, do it on your own, not on someone else’s terms. Find Him yourself. If you truly want something new, God knows your heart and my goodness He will provide in ways that you never thought would be possible.
