Here’s What Would Happen On A Season Of ‘The Bachelor’ Starring The Thought Catalog Staff Writers: Episode Two

By

The ladies gather in the living room for the first rose ceremony. Lauren and Ari are at opposite sides and Lauren is caught giving Ari nervous little glances. Ari pretends not to notice. Becca is nowhere to be seen. Kendra is smirking the background. Katie looks like she just wants to say eff this and go to bed.

The Bachelor steps forward, next to a pedestal with 11 stacked on top of each other.

“Hi ladies,” he begins. They all murmur something back.

“This night was,” he sighs. “An unbelievable start to what I’m sure will be an unbelievable journey. I hope you know that even if I just got to spend a moment with you, it is a memory I’m incredibly grateful to have. Each one of you is so unique and special. And I’m confident that even if I’m not the guy for you, there’s someone out there who will be so, so lucky to end up with you in their lives.”

The camera pans to Rania, who is smiling warmly. Lauren, who looks really nervous. And Kim who is nodding along.

“So, with that, I hope you remember how glad I am to be here. And how excited I am to…” he trails off.

“Aren’t we…” he looks confused. He looks off camera towards the producers.

“Aren’t we missing a girl?”

The girls murmur amongst themselves. Katie pipes up.

“It’s Becca. She’s passed out.”

Some of the girls can’t help but laugh. Others look completely annoyed. Katie looks visibly jealous.

The Bachelor looks towards a producer. “Does someone want to go get her? Or should I…”

No one moves.

He looks uncomfortable again. “Okay if we’re not going to go get her we’ll continue on.” He looks back to the ladies.

“I’m so sorry for that, and thank you for bearing with me through all of tonight.”

He picks up the first rose.

“Marisa.”

Marisa smiles sweetly and walks forward.

“Marisa,” he says smiling down at her. “Marisa, will you accept this rose?”

She nods adorably. “Of course I will.”

They hug tightly and Marisa makes her way back to the group.

He reaches for the second.

“Mélanie.”

Mélanie squeezes through Lauren, who is breathing rapidly, and Bianca, who tries to reassure Lauren.

“Mélanie,” he says. “Will you accept this rose?”

Mélanie reaches in and kisses his cheek. “Absolutely.”

Mélanie heads back to the group.

Third rose.

“Katie.”

Katie mutters something like “finally” and most of the girls look at each other baffled by her reaction.

“Katie,” he says sort of laughing. “Katie, will you accept this rose?”

She nods. “Yes.”

They hug sort of awkwardly and Katie makes her way back, fighting a yawn on her way.

Fourth rose.

“Rania.”

Rania squeezes Heidi’s hand and beams on her way down.

“Rania,” he says slowly. “Rania, will you accept this rose?”

She gently takes it from him. “Yes, absolutely.”

They hug warmly. Lauren looks even more distressed.

He reaches for the fifth rose.

“Chrissy.”

Chrissy locks eyes with him and walks his way with a smile.

“Chrissy,” he says with a smile. “Will you accept this rose?”

She smiles sweetly with a slight head nod. “Definitely.”

Ari and Chrissy smile at each other as Chrissy heads back.

Sixth rose.

“Nicole.”

Nicole seems like she hesitates slightly but smiles at him as they hold one hand.

“Nicole,” he says. “Nicole, will you accept this rose?”

She doesn’t respond, just nods and mouths yes while reaching in to hug him.

Seventh rose.

“Heidi.”

Heidi bounces happily and walks his way.

“Heidi,” he says. “Heidi, will you accept this rose?”

She nods. “I would love to.”

Eighth rose.

“Kim.”

Kim does a little shoulder shimmy on her way down. This makes the Bachelor laugh.

“Kim, will you accept this rose.”

She laughs. “Obviously.”

He reaches for the ninth rose.

“Bianca.”

Bianca gives a smile to Lauren, wordlessly assuring her it’s going to be okay as she walks his way.

“Bianca,” he beams down at her. “Bianca, will you accept this rose?”

She nods softly. “With all my heart.”

Lauren looks panicked. Kendra looks unreasonably calm.

He reached for the 10th rose.

“Kendra.”

Lauren looks ready to cry and Kendra smiles at the ground.

“Kendra will you accept this rose?”

“I would want nothing more.”

She sidles back to the other ladies as Chris Harrison comes out.

“Ladies,” he says in his Chris Harrison voice. “This is the final rose.”

The Bachelor looks to the floor for a moment before looking back to the women.

“I just want to emphasize again, you’re all incredible. But,” he pauses as he reaches for the last rose. Lauren dabs at her lower lash line trying to hold back tears.

The music swells and comes to an abrupt silent spot.

“Lauren.”

Lauren exhales dramatically as the music picks back up and fans her face on her way towards him.

“You scared me!” she exclaims and he laughs.

“I’m sorry! Lauren,” he begins.

“Yes?” she says with a sigh of relief.

“Lauren, will you accept this rose?”

Lauren nods and laughs again. “You know I will.”

They hug and Chris Harrison comes back out.

“Ladies unfortunately that was the final rose. Kirsten, Holly.” He pauses awkwardly. “And….Becca. I’ll give you a moment for your goodbyes.

Holly makes her way to the Bachelor first. They hug.

“You’re fantastic,” he begins. She stops him.

“It’s completely fine,” she says. “I sincerely hope you find your forever person.”

Kirsten and he exchange hugs and hand squeezes.

“You’re unbelievable. And what you’ve accomplished is truly, truly astounding. I hope you know that whoever ends up with you is so so lucky.”

She smiles and nods, “There’s no hard feelings. Really.”

The remaining women make their way into a circle with champagne flutes that seemingly appeared out of nowhere.

“To a fantastic season?” the Bachelor offers.

They all cheer and toast.

The final camera shot shows Becca, sound asleep upstairs in a robe. A wine bottle lays next to her on the floor. She audibly snores.
