No Matter What, Always Choose Yourself

As a person and as a woman, I know my own strength, value, and worth. I did not always see my own strength or value. It was a long process to get to where I am today, and I am forever grateful for the day I decided to focus on myself.

For anyone who knows what it is like to finally get to where you need to be on an emotional, mental, and physical level, it is a long process that is worth it because it makes you more of who you are.

There are going to be people that come in your life. Some people will match your own love and loyalty. Some people will match the level of fierceness you have. There will be people who do not contribute to your well-being as a person, and you part ways with those people, while wishing them the best.

Then there are people who come in your life that you give the freedom to be imperfectly themselves, and it does not matter as long as they are happy. The only time you should be parting ways with them is if they continually disrespect you as a person, as a friend and/or as a significant other.

Out of those people, the person who you will always have feelings for and just want to see them happy is probably the hardest goodbye you’ll have.

When your own strength, worth, and value constantly comes under scrutiny by someone who you give the freedom to be who they are and what they want to do, it is time to part ways.

At this point, your feelings do not matter, your own journey of struggle and growth become the deciding factor in this kind of decision.

Walking away from someone who you think the world of is not easy at all. But you should always choose yourself at the end of the day, because you will live with yourself for the rest of your life.

Those kind of decisions might not be easy, but you know you are strong enough to survive. You know you will find people who appreciate you and treat you the way you deserve to be treated. In the meantime, keep doing you and never let anyone stall your progress and growth as a person.
