One Day You Will Meet Someone Who Doesn’t Make You Question What Love Is

So often in life, we find someone just to have someone. We search for someone to hold when we are at our loneliest. We search for someone to have when we are out lowest.

But so often in life, we don’t find real love. We just find someone to fill the empty space in our hearts for a few months. We find someone to fill that big void in our life just for a few weeks.

And it isn’t love.

It’s temporary. It’s a temporary coat of paint on our hearts. It’s just a semi permanent shade of black to cover up all the white. It’s a comforting hand to hold when we are bruised. It’s a small hug when we need a big kiss. It’s someone to have, when we don’t want to be alone.

But someday, you are going to find someone who isn’t temporary.

Someday, you are going to find someone who makes you realize that all the people before this one person wasn’t love at all. And someday, you are going to find someone who never makes you question love ever again.

Someday, you are going to find someone who holds your hand through the good and the bad. Someday, you are going to find someone who has a permanent mark on your heart, and who recognizes how special and bright your heart is. Someday, you are going to find someone who you can look at, and immediately feel a bit lighter. And someday, you are going to find someone who will let you know that they are your forever.

With this person, you won’t want it to be temporary. You won’t only need them at your darkest hours. You won’t only want them when you have been thrown around by the storm of life.

With this person, you will realize that love is not something that comes and goes. Love is not something that you can cover up. And they will teach you that when you’re really lucky, love can be everlasting.

And you will know that with this person, they will love you until the day you die and every day afterwards. With this person, you will realize that love isn’t meant to hurt you. Love isn’t meant to be painful.

Someday, you will meet someone who shows you that love is gentle and kind. They will teach you that love is patient, and powerful. And that their love for you will never fade. 

Their love for you will not be semi permanent. It will not be a glaze over your living room floorboards. Their love will not be something that is fleeting. Their love for you will be the most permanent thing you have ever known. And their love for you will live on forever. No matter what.

It doesn’t seem like it now. It doesn’t seem possible. It seems like a fairytale. Like a made up illusion. Like something that could never in a million years happen to you.

But someday, you will find it. You will find the love that you have always prayed and hoped for. And when you do, you will know that love for you is possible. And that the love you have always searched for, is now something that won’t ever leave you.
