Remember: Your Intuition Led You Here

By

I’m sitting here asking the Universe if the choices I’ve made throughout the past couple of weeks have been the right choices. I do this by closing my eyes, taking five deep breaths, and asking for a sign.

In this instance, I ask to see a plane if the choices I’ve made are wrong. I open my eyes, look to the sky—nothing. Only a clear blue sky, no plane in sight. I proceed to ask the Universe to show me a cloud if the answer is yes. I open my eyes and still nothing but a clear blue sky on this perfect afternoon.

I’m so desperately asking the Universe for a sign that I almost fail to notice the grasshopper hanging out just a few feet away, ever so slowly making its way towards me.

Just in case you are wondering what this has to do with anything, let me give you a little insight as to what a grasshopper symbolizes.

For one, a grasshopper can only hop forward; therefore, when one appears to us, we are being asked to trust and take a leap ahead, even if we are scared of the unknown. Typically it’s something that we have been avoiding and is usually connected to change on a longer timeline. This can be about work, moving, or relationships. The grasshopper can be a reminder to go ahead and move forward and get past what is hindering you.

A grasshopper’s ability to understand and connect to sounds and vibrations is also a symbol of your inner voice telling you to trust yours.

However, like someone who truly knows how to question her instincts, my mind begins to wonder if this means to move forward as things were prior to the choices or to move forward with the new choices I’ve made.

At that moment, I realized that among all of the growth, lessons, and experiences, I’m still here not trusting myself, afraid I’ve made the wrong choices and fearful of the outcomes.

When it comes down to it, the choices we make come without knowing the outcomes, and often we must take a leap of faith and understand that we have the wisdom to get past any obstacles because, for the most part, all possible outcomes will be positive.

No matter what choice you and I make, we will be okay. The next time you find yourself questioning the choices you’ve made, take a deep breath and just be. Trust in yourself and trust the journey, because even negative outcomes help you bloom into the beautiful person you are.
