Some Things To Know If You’re Going To Fall In Love With Me

By

If you’re ever going to fall in love with me, please be warned. I am not going to shower you with romantic messages every day. I am not going to promise you forever. I won’t be there to text and call you every minute of the day; I won’t be continuously asking for validation that you still care.

You will not see me buying expensive presents. Please don’t expect me to take you to romantic dates in posh restaurants either. I won’t be bombarding our Facebook and Instagram accounts with our photos together. I know we look adorable. But baby, I’m sorry, that is not my definition of a happily ever after.

If you ever fall in love with me, please be prepared. I will not send you long messages about how much I love you, every day. Instead, I will ask you mundane questions such as about how your day went. I will eagerly listen as I secretly admire how you tell me every detail with overflowing enthusiasm. I won’t promise you forever. I can’t. But I will definitely make sure you that you will never be facing the future on your own.

Please be rest assured that you won’t be bombarded with texts and calls when we’re not together. We have lived separate lives before we met. I would like to keep our individuality. I will never cage you. I want you to remain a free soul. Although I must admit, I will always miss you whenever we’re not together. As much as I want to be with you every day, your occasional absence will definitely make my heart grow fonder.

Buying expensive presents is not my forte. I may be a bit stingy, I know, but I am also not really a huge fan of materialism. I’d rather take you on spontaneous dates such as a weekend trip to a place you’ve never been or a midnight stroll around the streets of London. I’d rather spend time on experiences and build memories with you than buy you an expensive watch that is bound to be forgotten.

If you ever fall in love with me, your Instagram account will not be filled with Instagram-worthy food photos. I won’t take you there unless you really want to. I’d rather cook for you on our own little kitchen. I’d rather be captivated by how beautiful you are as you patiently wait for me to finish cooking while we chat about anything that comes to our mind. Otherwise, I’d rather take you to food markets. We will try new cuisines together. We will discover the odd and exotic ones. Perhaps, by now, you will notice that I religiously believe that the best way to a woman’s heart is through her stomach.

Lastly, if you’re going to fall in love with me, please expect that our story will never be an open book to all our Facebook friends and Instagram followers. I would like to keep us private and discreet. Although, please be rest assured that I am utterly proud of having you, baby. I am absolutely blessed to have you. I just don’t want them to validate our happiness. I don’t want our relationship to be defined by the number of likes and comments that our photos will get. I don’t want them to keep our relationship together. I want our relationship to last. I want us to take charge. The only time where I want them to witness our story will be on the day where I’ll be patiently waiting for you at the end of the aisle. I’ll be certainly crying with tears of joy by that time because, finally, after a long time of waiting for you to fall in love with me, I can finally whisper to you the words: “Baby, we’ve made it”.

If you’re going to fall in love with me, I will ensure that making you fall in love with me over and over again, will be at the top of my to-do list, every single day.
