Quartz has posted a video from 1964’s presidential election between Republican Barry Goldwater and Democrat Lyndon Johnson and it’s going viral.
Just put out a very important policy statement on the extraordinary influx of hatred & danger coming into our country. We must be vigilant!

I wonder if President Obama would have attended the funeral of Justice Scalia if it were held in a Mosque? Very sad that he did not go!

At the time, Goldwater was considered so extreme to many in the Republican rank and file that this ad urged Republicans to turn out and vote, not for Goldwater but for his Democratic rival, Lyndon Johnson. Johnson won in a landslide victory.
Due to Trump’s status as a disruptor and his questionable stances on key issues, it appears some Republicans feel the same about Trump today as they did Goldwater in 1964. But will the party urge Republicans to vote for a Democrat should Trump win the GOP nomination? That would be something.
