This is the theme song from The Spy Who Loved Me, which is okay-ish, and this song is likewise okay-ish. You run out of good James Bond songs fairly quickly, it seems. Anyway, I went to Sarah Lawrence College, which is where Ms. Simon went to school, and I used to work in the archives, and I found Carly Simon’s college application and freshman photo — and well, I never really thought of Carly Simon as being a hottie, but the eighteen-year-old Carly Simon? She was, um, smokin’ hot, for lack of a better term. Just very hot indeed.

Also in Carly-related thoughts, it kind of sucks that “You’re So Vain” turned out not to about Warren Beatty after all, but instead is about boring record executive David Geffen. It really should be a song about Warren Beatty. …Because he’s so vain. …I truly have nothing interesting to say about the song “Nobody Does It Better,” in case you hadn’t figured that out already.
