This 5th Grader’s Love Note From Her Crush Is Cuter Than Anything You’ve Gotten From Your Boyfriend
By Jacob Geers
Who said romance was dead? Well, at least for all the 5th graders out there…
For many of us, our first crushes happened in the innocence of elementary school. Perhaps we saw some cute girl or guy on the playground, or realized we wanted to be “grown up” during free reading time, and found someone to call our “girlfriend / boyfriend.” I remember when I asked out a girl named Aimee in the 1st grade and gave her an old ring. It was probably the best relationship I ever had.
ANYWAY, two 5th graders are going through that rite-of-passage at this very moment. A proud uncle uploaded this adorable love note his niece got from her elementary school crush:
Read it below. You’ll wish it was yours:
My niece is in 5th grade and got her first love note. This 5th grader has more game than I’ll ever have.

In case all the hearts on the note are distracting you, here’s the plain text version of the note:
Dear Abby,
Your eyes remind me of the evening sky. My heart felt like broken glass until I saw you, and then, I felt like I had every pokemon ever. I love how you play Zelda even when people think it’s weird. If you liked me it would be my first ever victory.
This letter is literally the best.
- Poetic language? Check.
- Mentioning his heart? Check.
- Pokemon? Check.
- Zelda? Check.
If someone wrote me a letter half this good, I’d probably marry them on the spot. Best wishes to the happy couple.
