This Couple Is Facing Arrest Because Their House Was Vandalized By A Racial Slur — And They Won’t Remove It

After they found a racial slur graffitied on their garage door, this couple has decided to take a stand — by not removing it.

When the interracial couple found the vandalism on their Connecticut home, they weren’t particularly shocked. It wasn’t the first time they had been harassed for their race in their neighborhood, they said.

The Stamford Police ordered the couple to remove the slur from their garage but they refused, despite being fined $100 per day. The couple said they didn’t want the racist act to be swept under the rug so easily.

The couple called for action against prejudiced acts and insisted the police make their case a priority. They say they won’t remove the slur until authorities take action, despite the graffiti being there since Jan. 14, the Saturday before Martin Luther King Day.

The police plan to up the ante if they continues to resist them. The Stamford police chief visited the home to tell the couple that they face arrest on top of their daily $100 fines. The couple’s response? They’ll see the authorities in court.
