This Is Your Permission To Choose Yourself

By

This might be hard for you if you’ve often been a go-to person for different people in your life, but I want you to know, you have permission to choose yourself.

I get it, because I’ve been the go-to person too but haven’t always received the same treatment in return.

It’s okay to be helpful and caring and giving, but your needs, wants, and desires matter too.

You have permission to choose yourself.

Different people may think you’re being “brand new” or mean or selfish, but you are not.

You matter too.

Are the friends and family members calls and texts and events you answer to and show up for showing up for you the same way you show up for them?

If not, start pulling back and start choosing yourself.

We’re not meant to be everything to everyone else, so stop burning yourself out trying. Instead, start choosing yourself.

Choose your peace.

Choose your freedom.

Choose people who are giving to you the way you give to them.

You have permission to choose yourself and not feel bad about it.

It may feel awkward and slightly uncomfortable at first, but allow yourself to push past those feelings and embrace a new level of peace and freedom. Start showing up for yourself the way you have shown up for others. Use this time to reevaluate your wants and needs and desires and consider developing new connections with people who are capable of giving to you at the level you have given to others.

You deserve the same amount of love, care, effort, time, appreciation, and sacrifice you have given out. Step into choosing yourself. Put it into practice. One day at a time. One moment at a time. And don’t look back.

You have permission to choose yourself.

Enjoy it.
