This Woman Dropped Her iPhone On Her Neighbor’s Balcony And Live-Tweeted Her Wild Plan To Get It Back
If you’re as clumsy as I am, you’ve probably dropped your phone so many times that it’s honestly a miracle it still turns on at all. No matter where I manage to drop it, I’ve always been able to retrieve it, but some of us aren’t so lucky.
Twitter user Liz Bertorelli, for instance, got herself into a sticky situation when her phone managed to slip from her hand and onto her neighbor’s balcony.
What did I do tonight? Oh ya know, dropped my phone off balcony to the unit below. Watchin' notifications roll in from afar is devastating. pic.twitter.com/o9lR3iqehc

It was an unfortunate situation, but she had a plan.
Update: I threw a note with another phone number to contact, it landed right on their table. Here's hoping 🤞

…Until that plan backfired.
Update: Noooo, note blew off the table. Its very windy this morning and might rain, nice. pic.twitter.com/D0gmbn03SX

So, it was time for a new plan.
I've got a Swifter and duck tape. Wish me luck.

Let’s just say she was feeling a lot of feels, as we often do when losing something so loved and treasured.
Thought: Is this how Romeo and Juliette felt? 💔📱

She was getting REAL desperate.

Seriously, she tried everything, including human interaction.
Knocked, nobody's home. If they're on vacation….
— liz (@liznlbee) October 4, 2017
When all else failed, she had to wish her beloved goodbye until she could come back again.
Update: Feeding bae before work. Be safe on the third floor, I miss you already. #HomeAloneiPhone pic.twitter.com/98I5ZvVJLe

But even from afar, she couldn’t stop thinking about her fallen friend.
Update: At work without my iPhone, seeing everyone else with their iPhones. Feeling lost and alone 💔📱

HOW AM I SUPPOSE TO PREOCCUPY MYSELF ON TOILET WITHOUT AN IPHONE?? 🚨 ASKING FOR A FRIEND 🚨
— liz (@liznlbee) October 4, 2017
Especially when it looked like the universe was not going to be in her favor.
Update: It's going to storm and my iPhone is still trapped on a third floor balcony. May the odds be ever in your favour, sweet prince ⛈📱 pic.twitter.com/MDSTIzbJb2

As you can imagine, it’s been a very rough time for her.
Update: I have officially gone 16 hrs without my iPhone and I'm still alive and well just really miss signing into @instagram.

But desperate times call for desperate measures, which, again, means talking to actual human beings.
I own so I called the super of the building, waiiiiting 🤞

Update: Went to knock on neighbours door for the 3rd time, no luck. They're either on vacation, always working or always sleeping 💁
— liz (@liznlbee) October 4, 2017
Seriously, this is like an episode of Dora the Explorer where you’re supposed to choose which item from her backpack will save the day.
OKAY TEAM! Here are all the tall objects I could find in my place + drone + dog. pic.twitter.com/c3zYXqYhpl

Though Liz hasn’t retrieved her phone yet, she has assured us all it’s still alive.

She’s just gotten craftier while she waits.

— liz (@liznlbee) October 4, 2017
So what will happen to Liz and her beloved iPhone? Well, we’ll just have to wait and see.
Update: At work, can't attempt anymore rescue missions atm. Let's all hope for a nice, dry weather forecast. Back at it when I get home 💪

May the odds be ever in her favor.
