This Year, Be Bold

2016 has come and gone. The demons are growing old, they are slowing down, but you are not. You are still as strong as you were, running as fast as you were. Look in the rearview mirror now, what seemed to be near is now growing more and more distant. Your demons are losing grip; they are slowing down in momentum. Don’t give them that power again.

Please my child, stop being scared. Stop being afraid. I know it’s hard, one day you are brave and you break the next. One day you smile and then you cry. I know that no one knows, but please believe that you are stronger than you think you are.

You are in 2017 for a reason. You’re not just going to get by because there are so much within you that the world has yet to see, so much energy, so much love and so much joy. You’re not going to be simply a face in the crowd because there are going to be those that will be impacted by the little words you speak, the little smiles on your face. You will be a light in a world of darkness. You are alive for a reason. You are loved.

Stop running away. Maybe it’s time to finally face your fears in a different way. You’ve accepted, you have acknowledged the past, but you are worthy of so much more. Maybe it’s time for you to not just accept and acknowledge, but time for you to look at the ghost straight in the eye and tell the past that your future is brighter. Face your fears with all the strength you have, with the knowledge that you are not the same you yesterday, but a stronger, braver, worthier you.

Remember, you are living in 2017 because God has something in store for you. You are here for a reason and darling, even if you don’t see it now, hold on until the end, because you can’t connect the dots looking forward, you can only connect them looking backwards. Promise me please, that in 2017, you’d be bold.
