To All 20-Somethings Who Don’t Think They’re Good Enough, You Are

Once and for all, tell that negative committee in your head to shut up and dismiss them fast.

Stop pitting yourself against everyone.

I know you have a list of people you want to compare your life with.

I also know that only some of it are inspirations- majority of it are people you met in life and some people you saw on social media that you want to compete with. You watch what they do and try to be better at it.

Now they got something faster than you did. Now you feel anxious because she got more followers or likes. Now you’re comparing your job to hers and everyone.

Are you trying to live your life or theirs? Are your goals the same? Is this behavior rational or petty?

While competition is good for you, you don’t realize that you are already emulating some people’s lives upon doing this. You don’t realize that you don’t have the same goals and same styles of achieving it. Focus on you and what you really want.

“The reason why we struggle with INSECURITY is because we compare our behind the scenes with everyone else’s highlight reel.” – Steven Furtick

Don’t dwell on being inferior.

Believe it or not, everyone around you don’t see your imperfections like you see them.

Instead of putting so much pressure on yourself and brooding about your inferiority, work on it and think about everything you’re good at. Talk to a friend if you have to- maybe you don’t realize it yet but I’m sure they do know you.

“While one person hesitates because he feels inferior, another is busy making mistakes and becoming superior.” ~ Henry C. Link

Life doesn’t give you the same handouts as everyone. Walk in your path while focusing on your goals- Winners focus on winning. Being insecure about your capabilities is a reflection of how you see yourself.

If you don’t want other to say mean things about you, why would you tell it to yourself? You are a worthy, wonderful human being. You don’t even have to look away to know it.
