What If I Told You I Loved You?

What if I told you that I love you? Would you believe me? What would be your reaction? Because I just did.

What if I told you that I’d do anything just to call you mine? Would you believe me or just roll your eyes back inside your head and ignore me?

What if I told you that your smile and laughter always has me weak at the knees, that your beauty overwhelms me, that my heart literally skips a beat at the sight of you. Would you believe me?

What if I told you that I admire you?I admire your strength, resilience, your service to other people, the small things you do that brings out the beauty of your heart for people to see, for the world to see, would you believe me? Would you let out that smile that has killed me for years?

What if I told you that I’ve loved you for ages. No, really, I have. Not a single day that I’ve seen you in my dreams, have I missed out on the things that make you so loveable each and every day.

What if I told you that I’d give you the last piece of pizza? That I’d give you first priority even on the smallest of things? Would you trust me?

What if I told you that I won’t make any promises I won’t keep? That the one thing I promise you, the one promise I make to your heart is to take care of it. Would you trust me?

What if I told you that I’d hurt you, that someday you are going to cry because of me, even if it might not have been my choice to hurt you but my sinful nature. Would you be terrified of loving me?

What if you gave me a chance to love you, would you beg me not to break your heart like the rest before me did?

What if we fought? What if I went as far as telling you some of the worst possible things a lover could be told, heartbreaking as a matter of fact, all in the name of anger? Would you forgive me when I’ll tell you that I never meant anything I said, not a word? Will you believe me? Will you allow me to hold you, again?

What if we danced into the night, had the time of our lives, then the next day you look me in the eye and tell me that you don’t feel the same way, not anymore.

What if it’s you that breaks my heart?m
