When The Heart And The Mind Can’t Agree

I wonder
If the anatomical locations of our hearts & minds
Were purposefully placed apart
Because God knew (as always)
That these alpha organs would spend most of their living moments
Attempting, yet failing
At reconciling with each other?

Is that why we tend to distance ourselves
When d i f f e r e n c e s arise?
After all, even our anatomy is built in such a manner
Our hearts & minds
Wired into completely separate body systems
Eternally r e m o v e d from each other

Perhaps a tragedy written in our stars
That while separate minds could think alike
Two hearts could beat as one

The heart & mind
Would never compromise.
