Discussion: Is Suffering Actually “Bad” For Us?

Why is the offensive so offensive these days? Why are we so afraid to hurt each other? What’s wrong with kicking the life out of someone, metaphorically and even perhaps physically? Why do we prize happiness over pain? The safe over the dangerous?

They post on Facebook photos of themselves in bikinis or tie-dye shirts, lying on the grass or drinking a beer by a tent, and they talk about how awesome the experience was in their feed.

In Defense Of Anti-Drinking Laws

The typical superficial response: The former is better because it encourages freedom, while the latter restricts it. A smarter retaliation: If you can’t opt to restrict freedom, you’re not free.
