I should have listened to my gut a long time ago when this thought first crossed my mind: you don’t care about me the way I care about you.

When your life is full of adventure, people tend to stop asking questions about your love life, because they see how full it is with just you in it.

What you don’t know is that at night, she cries. She cries before she goes to bed and she cries in the shower where no one can hear her. She stares at her phone, hoping to see a text from you. She leaves space where you use to sleep next to her in her bed.

I needed to see what it was like living life on my own. I needed to understand what being independent meant. I needed to get uncomfortable with loneliness.
