You know how everyone fantasizes about quitting their job? To do something crazy, like open a bakery in Maine or more generally, pursue their so-called “passions”? Well, I tried that route once…. and, like a lot of things, it didn’t quite turn out as I’d hoped.
Because while things like uncertainty go hand-in-hand with tough decisions, I’ve learned this doesn’t necessarily make them bad.
While adult friendships may seem like they’re all lunch dates, happy hours and group trips to Vegas, they can be a lot more complicated than that.
There’s a few things we can keep in mind to alleviate some of these natural insecurities (and to avoid any episodes of drunk/ugly crying) when hanging with your possibly deserving, but still enviably, successful BFFs.
Plain and simple, just keep writing.
Doing the best you can at whatever you decide to pursue is really the only first step towards achieving anything worthwhile…and you can quote me on that.
I don’t see nice guys finishing last. I see them finishing closer to first.
For all those current 22 years olds neither eating breakfast at midnight nor falling in love with strangers, here some assurance for the years to come:
