Dear Universe—Thank You For Being Tough On Me
I don’t know about you, but I like to make meaning out of everything. I think a lot of people do, it’s human nature, really.

It all starts when the tiny voice inside of us, in a moment of desperation, has the courage to speak up.
Why has happiness turned into something larger? Why is there this common and often heavy expectation that we should be experiencing this feeling more often than not?
When the dust settles, we will sit down in silence and become reacquainted on a much deeper level. I will indulge and feel revitalized, feeling all the things I have been missing.
Our true selves are finally speaking to us, and if we are fortunate enough, we are finally listening.
When I face any struggle or hardship in my life, I usually contemplate the different reasons until I find one that makes me feel a little bit better. Is it trying to teach me something? Is it trying to show me how lucky I am or how I need to have more gratitude? Or is it trying to change my perspective entirely?
Your story matters. Your feelings matter. And your truth matters.
