Here’s How To Know If Your Relationship Is Still Worth Fighting For

When things bend, it’s easy to leave them behind and find something new instead of going through the hassle of fixing them without the guarantee of bringing them back to their original form. But if you come to think of it, it’s the primary purpose of why people love—it changes the structure of our heart. It grows bigger when we are happy; it alters its shape when we are sad—and yet, it still keeps beating, but only stronger.

If you ask me why I stay with you, it’s because my heart beats for you. My love, you make me a better person, a better partner, a better writer, and a better woman, all because of your existence. We are not a perfect couple, we probably fight more than others, but what makes us worth it is we see it through. Our problems are just that—problems. And we are bigger together than anything life throws at us.

Not every couple is lucky enough to weather every challenge that comes in their way, but if you’re reading this and looking for answers to whether what you are fighting for is worth it, ask yourself these questions:

Do you still see a future with your partner, even if you’re in a bad place right now?

Once you overcome the storm, are you still going to see your happiness with your partner?

Do you continue to make an effort to know each other better by knowing the lessons your fights are teaching you?

And lastly, do you still love this person enough, no matter how many more storms come your way?

If you answer yes to all of it, then keep that person, because it’s a once in a lifetime kind of love, and at the end of the day, it’s going to be worth it. I’m lucky to find and keep the person that makes me say “yes” to every question. And I’m keeping this person for the rest of my life, whatever it takes.
