Here’s The Unsettling Trailer For ‘The First Purge’

I’ve loved the evolution of The Purge franchise. From what seemed like a one-off starring Ethan Hawke to a low key political thriller, the films have added depth with each new movie. They don’t go down the typical horror route of just adding more gore and less writing.

Today the trailer for The First Purge dropped. This installation goes back to tell the story of the very first purge and promises to show us “how it all began”.

I hope it answers some very important questions I have about the franchise like, “why doesn’t everyone go to Canada for a week?”
