After the Continental snooze that was How to Make a Book With Steidle I was ready for a good American thriller. I chose Better This World, a tale of entrapment and a failed justice system so affecting I immediately went to my computer and penned my first letter to a prisoner. (No reply has been received as of yet.) David McKay was arrested at the 2008 Republican National Convention for making and possessing Malatov cocktails. The thing is, an FBI informant made him do it! He was just a peaceful protestor before when, at 23, he met Brandon Darby, a government mole styled as a revolutionary who spent six months convincing McKay that violence was the only way to make a difference. This film is a horrifying, anger-inciting indictment of the methods used to find and convict terrorism suspects post-9/11. Trust no one, American friends!
