I Want A Fairytale Love And There’s Nothing Wrong With That

By

Since childhood, our parents read us fairy tales and stories about princes and princesses. We get sucked into the romanticism of it all. Nevertheless, when we grow up, we soon realize that it’s not reality. Life is messy and complicated, and no prince will show up at our doorstep. There will be no magical encounter on the street or at a cafe. This is simply not how it works.

However, becoming a hardcore realist also means losing our imagination and the pure joy of life.

We start focusing on mundane occurrences, and we forget how magical life can be. Paying bills, settling in a relationship, and forgetting your dreams are all part of losing our childhood happiness. And I refuse to do that.

I want that happy ending that all romantic novels and movies talk about. I want to be swept off my feet by someone who’s everything I’ve ever wanted. I want all of my desires and fantasies come true, and I refuse to believe that it’s not possible.

We create our own destinies. And I’m going to make sure that mine is as magical as possible. So, I will create my extraordinary love story, because, you know what, I can. I am free to live my life the way I want to and I refuse to follow the rules of the society. Even though I’m grown, I will not lose my child-like imagination and faith.

At this moment, my life might not be perfect. However, it is mine to change. We are all capable of creating our own fairy tale life. The only person that’s actually stopping us is our own self. And I reject that even as a mere possibility.

As my very good friend once said, “part of being a writer is the ability to create our own ending.” These words are as true for writers as they are for everyone else, simply because we’re all writers at heart. And we are more than able to write our own stories.

So, I’m going to have my love story the way I want to. Even if it’s going to take a while. I will have the life I want, just as everyone in these books and movies I’m so obsessed with. Because the only way to ensure it will never happen is to believe it won’t.

So, go out there and create your own fairy tale life. Because guess what? You can.
