All the Video Game Consoles I’ve Ever Owned in Chronological Order, Pt. 3 of 4
Miscellany I Forgot So Far, ????-????
After I started publishing this ‘series’ I received an email from my dad that says:
You probably forgot the Texas Instruments Ti-94/A we also used to have. It was running a 16-bit chip at a time when everyone else was 8-bit. Don’t recall the games we played on it. We also had a Mattel Intellivision loaner for a brief while.
I definitely forgot that. No memory whatsoever thereof. Then my mother calls me during my workday saying “there were some inaccuracies in your article.” Whenever I write articles/essays containing anecdotes related to my parents my mother calls and seems, somewhat facetiously, to be upset + feeling misrepresented. First ‘inaccuracy’ turned out to be my mother confusing the time she was confused by the Macintosh screensaver [in Part 1] with another time she was confused by computers. Second inaccuracy was where I estimated that I was ‘4 or 5’ years of age in a picture of me using a computer [in Part 1]. She says I was ‘like 2 or 3’, suggested I might want to correct it so that everyone would know I was an “impressive” child.
When Barack Obama was elected my mother thought his speechwriter was “impressive”/hot, she called me up to suggest I date him. My reply was something to the effect of “Mom, okay Mom, I will ‘get on that’ right now.” And she said “but you could” or something. Then Barack Obama’s speechwriter turned out to be dating a gorgeous model.
