Likely Fictional Texts

Seems like every time Bob Dylan broke up with someone, he wrote a really snarky song about it. One rhetorical question after another! It’s like, okay Bob, you’re morally superior to all these shallow and trite women who will slowly come to realize how much they lost. You don’t need revenge, just a throat lozenge. By the time a woman calls you an asshole, she’s been telling her friends and family you were one for at least a month. That’s why they give you “that look” when you pick her up; that’s why no one consoles you when she finally cheats on you. Still, I like listening to the song now and then, that raspy somewhat sarcastic voice angrily calling out in love’s sadness. Some meandering keyboard trying to keep up with a song that seems to never end, as if its composer didn’t want the relationship to. How does it feel?
