Maybe Your Rejection Is Part Of God’s Plan
By Lily Low
When something doesn’t go our way, it’s normal for us to feel disheartened. We feel dejected. We start to feel frustrated and beat ourselves up over it, wondering if we’re enough—if we worked hard enough, if we’re smart enough, if we’re good enough, if we’re even worthy.
In these moments, you may not understand why you have to go through this. You may not understand why you were rejected. You may not understand why you were unable to overcome the same obstacle, despite multiple attempts. You may not understand the doors slammed in your face. You may not understand why you had to part ways with some of the people in your life.
When you go through rejection, I hope you remember that this rejection does not define you as a whole. And regardless of the amount of rejections you may have gone through, these do not define everything about you. You are more than your studies. You are more than your job. You are more than your thoughts. You are more than your past. You can always improve from your present.
When you go through rejection, I hope you remember that you should not fear it. Rejection can also be God’s protection. We may not fully understand why things had to happen the way they did. But who knows? Your rejection could be making way for something better. Your rejection may be a tough lesson, but through this, you will grow. Your rejection could be used for good. Your rejection may very well be a step towards plans even greater than yourself.
When you are rejected, I hope you remember that it may very well be His protection over you. I hope you remember that rejection isn’t the end of the world. There is more to life than this.
There is purpose in your pain. At this stage, you may not understand why. But it will be revealed to you — slowly, certainly, eventually. When one door closes, another door opens.
