Whoever called the southern swath of the Midwest the Bible Belt wasn’t kidding. This part of the country is deep red.
“He leaves me no choice!” the lady indignantly proclaims. “I’ve told him time and again, in no uncertain terms, that we’re friends and that’s all we’re ever going to be. But still he INSISTS on taking me out and paying for my drinks and all that other stuff! Whatever am I supposed to do?”
It never fails; if you’re running right on time, the bus will pass your stop 30 seconds early and leave you choking in the dust thrown up in its wake. If you get there five minutes early, on the other hand, the bus will get there 10 minutes late, resulting in a 15-minute wait.
