I promise I will take you out to dinner, like he barely did with me.

I promise when things become rocky I will not push you away, like he always seemed to do.

I promise to admit when I was wrong, like he never could.

I promise to understand your feelings, like he never would.

I promise to respect you always, as he would sometimes forget.

I promise I will not keep you around until I find someone else I believe is better, like he did to me.

I promise I will never lie to you, which he had often done to me.

I promise you will never second guess how I feel for you, like I used to do when I was with him.
